Calif. man charged with flying to D.C. for sex with child

This is a really disgusting story. A pedophile predator who wanted to have sex with a three year old. Apparently the police infiltrated a website where people who are sexually attracted to children congregate. A three year old! What the heck is wrong with someone who wants to have sex with a child period. Those against the sexual offender registry are going to have a field day with this story. They don't like stories where police investigate predators. They tend to call sting operations such as this "entrapment." This man flew across the country to pursue his sexual perversion. That's intent in my opinion. Or course he deserves his due process and his defense attorney will more then likely try to explain prior to this he has been an upstanding citizen. Yup, an upstanding citizen who thinks it is appropriate to have sex with children. I'd hate to see someone who wasn't an upstanding citizen. To scary to think about. Rosie

A California man has been charged with flying to the District to have sex with a young boy and related child pornography charges.
Brian Walton thought he was discussing plans with a man who was offering to let him have sex with a 3-year-old nephew, authorities said. Turns out Walton was dealing with an undercover D.C. police officer.
Walton was handcuffed and arrested shortly after his plane landed.
A systems engineer for a digital mapping company in the Silicon Valley, Walter was charged by information last week with "traveling in interstate commerce to illicit sexual conduct" and activities relating to material constituting child pornography. He was charged by information, which typically means a plea deal is in the works. He faces a minimum of 10 years on the first charge, according to federal sentencing guidelines.
Detectives said Walton met the undercover officer June 22 on a website frequented by people who have a sexual interest in children.
Charging documents give the following account:
As the online exchange continued over the next three months, Walton asked the undercover officer whether he viewed his 3-year-old nephew "more as a toy or do you think about a relationship with him?"

Walton went on to explain, "I'm into ALL aspects of pedo...light to heavy...also into hard core us...but I'm sane...never want to go to jail."
During an online conversation in July, Walton noted he would be in Chicago the next month and he could fly to D.C. on the morning of Aug. 19 to meet.
They agreed to "validate" themselves at a D.C. Starbucks and prove that neither was affiliated with law enforcement before going to pick up the nephew. When the undercover officer raised the issue as to whether this was "just fantasy" for Walton, the California man responded, "Oh God no!" according to the charging documents.
About 4:30 p.m. Aug. 19, Walton sent a text message to the undercover officer saying his plane had landed at Washington Dulles International Airport, and that he was in a cab on his way to his hotel.
He was arrested at their prearranged meeting place.
