Molester who lived in B.C. handed 240-year-sentence Steven Dyer lived in Vancouver for years, prompting police probe after arrest

I am glad that this predator got caught. I did a post on him in February. http://www.memoirofaredemptivelife.com/2012/02/one-of-americas-most-wanted-nabbed-in.html#more This pedophile predator was on the lamb for ten years and finally got caught. He sexually abused two boys in Arizona and had been living in Vancouver for a years. When they caught him he was on his way back from a trip from Venezuela. He was frequently in Central and South America more then likely preying on other children. America's Most Wanted played a role in his being caught. It is good to see that those who try to flee the law do get caught. He paid a large price for being a fugitive 240 years. I am glad for the two boys he abused in Arizona and am glad that any future abuse of children has been stopped. Rosie
Steve Dyer lived for years in the Vancouver area after fleeing Arizona, police said (Scottsdale Police Dept.)
An Arizona man who fled the U.S. and lived in the Vancouver area after being convicted of child molestation a decade ago was sentenced Friday to 240 years in prison.
Arizona prosecutors said Steven Dyer was sentenced on 12 counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of public sexual indecency.
Dyer, 44, was returned to Arizona after being arrested in February as he passed through Montreal's Trudeau airport.

Authorities say the 44-year-old Dyer had assumed the identity of a Canadian citizen and was living in Vancouver although he also travelled frequently to Central America and South America.
Vancouver police said after his arrest in Montreal that they were checking previous unsolved sex crimes to try to determine if there was any possible connection to Dyer.
While living in the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale, Dyer was accused of molesting two boys he befriended over an 18-month period between 1999 and 2001.
Dyer was tried in absentia and convicted in 2002.
