One of America's most wanted nabbed in Montreal

Kids are a little safer today now that this pedophile has been caught. It took ten years but he was finally caught. Americas Most Wanted played a role in him being captured. Thank you, Rosie

Officers with the Canada Border Services Agency have arrested a fugitive from the U.S. wanted on 13 counts related to child molestation.
Steven Dyer was arrested at Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport on Tuesday at about 9 p.m. ET as he returned from a trip to Venezuela.

CTV's Mercedes Stephenson said the CBSA told her Dyer will face Canadian charges for living under a false identity and will likely be deported back to the U.S. -- though an extradition request has not yet been issued by American authorities.
"They were categorical and clear to me that they want this man out of Canada as soon as possible and he will be removed," Stephenson told CTV News Channel.
According to the website for the television program America's Most Wanted, Dyer was released on bail roughly a decade ago in Arizona, and failed to appear for a scheduled court appearance.
As a result he was convicted in abstentia on April 16, 2002 on 12 counts of child molestation and was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He has not been sentenced, but faces a minimum term of 169 years in prison, according to America's Most Wanted.
The CBSA learned in December of last year that Dyer had assumed the identity of a Canadian citizen and was living in Vancouver.
Officers also learned that Dyer was out of the country at the time and began to closely monitor border points for his return.
That happened on Feb. 21, when Dyer flew into Montreal and was arrested by CBSA officers.
He is currently being held in Montreal.
According to America's Most Wanted, Dyer was living in Phoenix, Az. at the time the offences were committed. He was working as a pharmaceutical salesman and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America in his spare time.
"Dyer had a clean criminal history, and portrayed himself as a wealthy, upstanding citizen with a heart of gold, always willing to go out of his way to help others," the report states.
"But between 1999 and 2001, Dyer did the unthinkable."
The site said Dyer befriended a young boy, "grooming" him with alcohol and by taking him on trips, and eventually molested the youth.
Dyer is wanted on 12 counts of sexual conduct with a minor, and one count of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
